Femininity, glamour, an eye for detail and a pure love for beautiful music are on display whenever Melanie plays.

Raised in a household of music lovers, Melanie was surrounded by an eclectic mix of sounds spanning the decades.  She listened to the likes of Doris DayFrank SinatraThe Beach Boys, The BeatlesElvis and The Bee Gees, and immersed herself in the wonderful world of musicals such as My Fair Lady, Les Miserables, The Sound of Music and Phantom of the Opera.  She also fell in love with classical music, spending much of her youth developing a consummate knowledge of this genre.

Producing beautiful string arrangements of popular songs from her favourite contemporary artists - such as ColdplayNorah JonesTaylor Swift and Michael Buble - is a pursuit Melanie finds particularly enjoyable, interesting and rewarding.

Melanie completed her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2007, and the following year achieved a Diploma of Music Education from the University of Wollongong.

Following on from these formal qualifications, Melanie went on to enjoy extensive experience performing as a freelance musician at weddings, recording studios, and TV shows. Accompanying artists such as Kylie Minogue on ‘Young Talent Time.’

Melanie also performed all over Australia, Indonesia and New Zealand with the highly successful, electric violin corporate act, The String Angels.

Having performed as a freelance wedding musician for a many years, and seeing a need for wedding musicians that presented as beautifully as they sounded, Melanie designed and launched Diamond Strings in 2013.

The Diamond Strings musicians are styled by Melanie and are not only highly technically skilled, but also chosen for their genuine love of weddings.

Femininity, glamour, an eye for detail and a pure love for beautiful music are on display whenever Melanie plays. She revels in fashioning visually stylish, stellar performances for her clients and their guests to experience.
